This database refers users to scholarship and research funding opportunities for displaced students and researchers who are already in Canada.

Eligible students with refugee backgrounds in the Metro Vancouver region, Landed in Canada under a refugee resettlement program (GAR, JAS, PSR, BVOR) OR have a positive IRB court decision as an accepted claim

Columbia College offers fully funded bursaries to eligible students with refugee backgrounds in the Metro Vancouver region.
Global Scholars Program: Student Refugee Bursary Program - Internal Claimant Bursary

Students who have filed for refugee status or protect persons in Canada.

Students may qualify for all programs at Columbia College at a discounted tuition rate. Students must be 15-30 years old and must present a valid study permit until official Permanent Resident (PR) card presented.

Hold (or have applied for) a residence permit (refugee application or visa or any emergency travel authorization issued by IRCC)

Financial award
The program aims to facilitate access to FRQ training grants for students from countries experiencing an emergency. The supports put in place can assist students in exile by providing scholarships, language training and networking opportunities through the collaboration of Quebec’s higher education institutions.

The FRQ intends to participate in global solidarity efforts with scientific communities affected by major and sudden crises. Applicants must first find a person willing to supervise their postdoctoral fellowship. Please check the website for further requirements.
